About Us

National Skill Training Institute, situated on sprawling 44 acres campus, was setup in 1968 by the Government of India, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Directorate General of Employment and Training (DGE&T) as a pioneer institute for upgrading the technical and behavioural skills of Superiors, started under assistance from the State of Baden Wuerttemberg, Federal Republic of Germany, the institute has come a long way in carving a niche for itself as “Best Specilized Training Institute” under DGE&T and conferred as “CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE for Supervisory Training & Development” by APSDEP-ILO.

This institute has excellent training infrastructure including labs and workshops with state-of-art trainer kits, machineries, training hardwares and softwares, seminar & Lecture halls, a well stocked library and dispensary. It has excellent team of faculty members headed by a qualified and experienced Director.

This institute is entrusted with the mission of producing systematically trained Craft Instructors to meet the huge demand of various industrial training institutions in our country. It conducts Craft Instructor Training Scheme (CITS) for Fitter, Turner, Machinist, Welder, Electronic Mechanic, Electrician and CSA trades,New age CTS courses trades for IoT Technician,Solar Technician and Welder.

History

In Diploma in IT, Networking and Cloud, the trainee is trained on Five Core Directorate General of Training (DGT) under Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship offers a range of Vocational Training courses catering to the need of different sectors of economy/ Labour market. The Vocational Training Programmes are delivered under aegis of National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT). Craftsman Training Scheme (CTS) and Apprenticeship Training Scheme (ATS) are two pioneer programmes of NCVT for propagating vocational training. Recently DGT has started Technical Diplomas for different streams and primarily implemented at DGT field institutes, National Skill Training Institutes and planned to expand to State Directorates in future. IT, Networking and Cloud course in collaboration with IBM-India is very much essential in the current scenario due to a lot of demand in software industries where every industry is using cloud as base. After passing out the training programme, the trainee will be awarded Technical Diploma by NCVT which has worldwide recognition.

The Institute is continuously upgrading and updating its infrastructure facilities in keeping with the changing industrial scenario and the emerging needs of the Industries. It has state of the art training facilities in the areas of Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Control Systems, Manufacturing Technology, Fabrication, CNC, CAD/CAM and other related areas with well equipped modern Laboratories and Workshop. The Institute has setup two world class Labiratories in Electrical and Fabrication (welding) under World Bank assisted Vocational Training Improvement Project.
